Oliviero Leti runs his business on a person to person relationship base. Therefore he solely works as a direct consultant for brands which favor his expertise for custom made, one of a kind projects based on specific needs and communication strategies.
To me Oliviero Leti is most and foremost synonymous of Europe. London, Paris, and of course Milan, where I first met him in November 1985, in his via Montenapoleone showroom.
It was a foggy day, and everything looked black and white. However, three steps down into his Aladdin cave were enough to get struck into a magic, kaleidoscopic environment.
Just one year old, Studio Leti was already a reference point for avant-garde fashion and design collections such as Dirk Bikkembergs, Ann Demeulemeester, Dries Van Noten, Monarca, Mont Blanc, Filofax, Maria Cornejo, Walter Van Beirendonck, Yen, NudoKrudo, Cutler and Gross London.
Oliviero was a fast forward thinker, but his roots were so classic that you cannot get any more classic.
Born in the Marche region from a family of cabinet makers, Oliviero came to Milan in his late teens to study at Brera Academy. Few days before his graduation Oliviero started working with the great photographer Bob Krieger. He then went to Los Angeles working on the Hugo Boss's ads, and to New York where Krieger worked as N.Y.T. 's correspondent.
Thanks to his capability to mix disparate people and create amazing, beautiful presentations, Oliviero soon expanded his business. His show-room, constantly evolving and growing, soon became a magnet for many international brands and moved from Monte Napoleone to Via Carducci and Via Donizetti.
Oliviero worked as the art director for many international photographers. To name a few: Giovanni Gastel, Piero Gemelli, Barry McKinley, Stefano Babic, Gian Paolo Barbieri, Ferdinando Scianna, Mark Borthwick, Toni Thorimbert, Steven Klein. He was also responsible for the image artistic direction of shoe brands such as Paciotti, Gianni Barbato, Mare, Nello Nembro, Robert Clergerie, Santoni.
In the early 90's Studio Leti began to organized special events, in collaboration with the UN, Art for the World di Adelina von Furstenberg, Chanel, Maxfield Parrish London, Alan Mikli, Ruinart, Falcaro, Alberto Guardiani, Joop!, Fuzzi, Dsquared2, Lorena Antoniazzi, Georgina von Etzdorf and many other international brands.
Furthermore, Oliviero opened his private residence - filled with artworks and English porcelain for hosting great, exclusive dinner parties.
